National Museum

Last Sunday was an open house at the museums.... so we decided to visit the National Museum!

Parked at Fort Canning and a couple of lion statues caught her eye...

Zoe... the Lioness wannabe.

Ooooh..... a Milo van at the museum! Free entrance and free Milo....

Eh... ask you ah... I more colorful or the balloons more colorful?

There's a cloth maze that the kids can draw on.... not exactly Mummy's cup of tea...

There's an outdoor area too! Magnify my palm!

Museum staff offered to take a family photo.... unfortunately... someone still wanted to be the lion statue...

Totally unrelated... but this little 3 year old is very much in touch with the trends in the world.... Planking!

Universal Studio Singapore

Took leave and brought Zoe to universal studios on Wednesday (while it is still free for her). Unfortunately, she is not very adventurous and refused to go on any of the rides.

We saw Kungfu Panda and was in the queue to take photos with him. But Zoe was kind of afraid of it (she hasn't watched the movie) and we had to forgo the opportunity.

Heat was sweltering and we sought refuge in Celebrity Cafe... Zoe has a cupcake...well... actually, only the frosting...

Managed to take a family photo with one of the characters in the end! The friendlier Woody woodpecker! So retro!!

We also booked a hotel stay at Festive Hotel. Got upgraded to a Deluxe Family Suite... the highlight was a loft bed which Zoe enjoyed climbing up and down...

It's really quite high up...

It's like a tree house!

She had more fun in the hotel room than at USS.... here's her pouring water for us...

Swimming pool at the hotel was fun too.... and totally not crowded (everyone's at the casino). There's a water jet cannon for kids.

And a nice and new play area.... the whole time we were there, there were only 6 people. The pool attendant looks totally bored.

Hoola Hoop!

Zoe's pretty good at hoola hoops... and she can do many tricks with it....

First, the standard hoola...

Second, holding the hoop upright without hands...

Sengkang Riverside Park

There's this place in Sengkang - Sengkang Riverside Park which is a pretty nice place to go on a sunny morning. We brought Zoe there last long weekend.

There's some one these structures (not sure what it is) that Zoe calls cookie cutters.

A toadstool with several peep holes!

It soon got too hot for us and we retreated to.... the airport! Zoe playing with a baggage thingy...

We took the sky train as well to go between terminals. You can see the look of anticipation on Zoe.... whats in her hands?

Her favorite Jelly Beans! Only available at all Cocoa Tree outlets.

Icing Room!

Breadtalk group has opened this chain called Icing Room - where you can decorate a plain cake in whatever way you want. We brought Zoe there one day.

The plain cake comes in 3 different sizes - and the piping they provide also depends on the cake size. We chose the smallest cake which comes with 5 color piping and a packet of "flowers".

Here are the ingredients - Baby Wipes not included. The tooth pick is used to remove your mistakes!

The blue for the sky, green for the ground and pink for flowers!

Decided to give Zoe a freehand - since the idea is for her to enjoy herself.

Thoughtfully providing a stool for kids to stand on.

Here's the final outcome! They will pack the cake nicely in a box for you and provide you candles.

The leftover pipings can be brought home.... and we let Zoe have the same fun twice over on a pandan cake from a neighbourhood bakery!

Haircut

Brought Zoe to a premium haircut place again as she was pretty uncomfortable with her hair. She's a good girl now and can sit through the entire haircut without fidgeting.

Zoe's school had a sandwich making event... parents and kids were given disposable aprons...

Put cheese..

Put ham...

Some lettuce and tomatos... oh, the little chefs made a hat for themselves too!
