Jumbo Crayons

Zoe loves to draw and the last time, we bought her some standard crayons but she breaks those easily because they are fairly thin...

We noticed that her school has some fairly thick crayons which the brand "Penguin" which are thicker and more suitable for toddlers but could not find them.

However, we managed to find a box of Jumbo Crayons from Crayola. They are thicker than even the Penguin brand and the colors are much brighter.

It is now a very good distraction... give her the crayons and a piece of paper and she can be by herself for a while...

Artist at work...fully focused....
What do you think of my work so far? Nice right?
And now... in full groove...
One thing good that she picked up from school is that once she is done with the crayons, she will pack them up with the papers and return them to the study table.

Cherry Apples

Recall that Zoe loves to eat Apples.... recently we found these small apples in NTUC called Cherry apples which are apples that are small and sweet. They are great because we can just give the whole apple to Zoe to chew...
Yummy....
And posing for a photo with my favorite apple....

Christmas

2009 is coming to an end... hope everyone had a good break! Year end is the season of giving and parties and guess who got the most presents? Zoe of course.

Zoe with a party hat from school...

Zoe loves looking at the mirror so we bought a mirror from Ikea ($35) and hung it on her wardrobe so that she can look at it when she feels like it. She does it everytime she has a new accessory!

We also bought a Christmas tree for Zoe and she has taken on the responsibility to turn on the Christmas lights everytime she wakes up or returns to the home and turn it off when we leave the house or when she goes to bed...
The Christmas tree is adorned with Butterflies which Zoe likes...

School!

School! The dreaded word for toddlers and parents alike. Anyway, we decided that we should start Zoe at a childcare for her to learn to interact with other kids as well as to get use to having less attention devoted to her. So we (ok, Shimin did most of the research... :P) hunted around the places where Shimin's mum is staying so that Shimin's mum can bring her home after school...

Settled on a place and *gasp*, 2nd Dec Zoe went to school... First, we had to get her to wear a uniform... and due to her small size, the uniforms are kind of big for her...

So does Zoe like the uniform?
Guess not... the first couple of days the parents could hang around so Shimin and her mum were around, she did not cry too much. It was the third day when Shimin had to drop her off and leave that was painful... she grabbed Shimin's leg and refuse to let go, so it was like abandoning your child but it had to be done....

Zoe's hair was also getting long. She perspires easily so we decided to get her a haircut. Dressed her in a pretty blue dress..
and off we went to Junior League at United Square....
Paid $20 for Zoe's haircut which is more than Shimin ($8) and mine ($10) combined! But that place plays her favourite Hi 5 DVD and has balloons, stickers and all. Zoe really hates to get her hair cut and her previous haircuts were all screaming, kicking experiences and the last hairdresser ($5) said that we should start cutting her hair ourselves. We got the hint so we went to Junior League which was a much better experience.... but $20!

Oh, and to enhance her schooling experience, we bought Zoe a Barney Trolley bag...
The kids at school had to pull their bags to the shower during bath time and with a rather heavy bag (1 set of clothes, 1 milk bottle, 1 towel, 1 water bottle), we figured a trolley bag will be best....

Well, Zoe loved the bag... she was dragging it around even at home and putting her toys in it... but today, she was still screaming and crying when Shimin left (20mins according to the teacher). Apparently, Monday's are like that... let's hope Tuesdays to Fridays are better... keep you guys posted!

Addressing People + Ponytail

Zoe hair is getting long so she can have a ponytail these days.... :) but she perspires very easily, so we will most likely trim her hair even though she looks more feminine this way...

Anyway, Zoe can call the people that she closes to... listen up as she does Papa, Mama, 爷爷,奶奶,婆婆 very well...舅舅is very enthusiastic while 公公 is super cute!

Cruise Pics

So we went on a cruise last weekend... Zoe's first trip overseas... it was good albeit expensive trip. The room that we got on the Legend of the Seas (Royal Caribbean) was a Family Suite with a Balcony on the top deck of the ship. It was very comfortable to accommodate the 7 of us and there are nice touches like a bottle of wine on Day 2 and chocolates every day.

So here are some pics of the trip! Zoe and Daddy before boarding the ship..
First thing she did onboard was to dip her hands in the pool.... well, she actually wanted to swim but her swimsuit was in the luggage which was yet to be delivered.

Here's a nice family pic when we first check into the room! The nice thing about having others on the trip is that we get a lot more family pics.... hehe...Then we went to the top deck to enjoy the view... here's Zoe with Qiyou on the top deck.
Here's the balcony of our room, it over looks the sea and its an experience to wake up, turn to the side and see the vast ocean.... its also our favorite place to hang out and chitchat....
And Zoe enjoys a joke....Our first stop was Penang....
Met up with Aunt Mary and family (thanks Chris for being the tour guide) as well as Zoe's great grandmother.

Their condo also has a breathtaking view of the mountains.... here, Zoe playing with the windchimes at the balcony..
Of course, we went for the famous Penang Chendol....
And also a food court overlooking the seas for Char Kway Tiao, fried oysters, Penang Pancake, grilled fish and some interesting fruit drink....
Throughout the entire cruise, Zoe is really the center of attention... everyone's taking photos of her...
And we launch a few new outfits....

Unfortunately, we were not able to prepare food for her. So she had to eat the cruise food but she did not really like. She is probably the only one who lost weight during the cruise!

Zoe hair is getting long... so Mumsy decided to tie up her hair so that it feels cooler...
She calls it the triangle hair...
