Zoe's Birthday - Home

We had decided to have a small gathering for Zoe's 3rd birthday for immediate family. But there is going to be one BIG surprise! A princess birthday cake that she always wanted....

And the main ingredient is.... pink whipped cream!

After putting the cream on the cake, Mumsy painstakingly placed small hearts in groups of 3s. That formed the base of the cake... the skirt!

Then... the doll is plunged into the cake!

Before her dress is piped... wand and crown added...

On the actual day... Daddy brought Zoe to collect her birthday balloons. Consist of one Princess balloon and 4 plastic balloons...

Yeye met Zoe downstairs. They looked like they are having fun aren't they?

And birthday means... presents!

Whoa... what's all these toys!

Birthday also means Food. Check out the spread... mini canapés from Coffee Bean..

Home made Aglio Olio by Mumsy...

Thin Crust Pizza by Mumsy...

Fried Chicken Wings by Por Por...

and Ta Baoed Achar...

Birthday girl giving a twirl in her dress...

She hasn't seen the cake yet.... wonder how her reaction will be???

She loved it! Although in a shy way...

And the birthday girl got a wand and crown just like her cake!

Blowing out the 3 pink candles...

Family photos with the How Family...

And the Lau Family...

Cake Cutting time! Mumsy shows how to cut a Princess cake...

See... the skirt is actually 2 round cakes (one chocolate, one marble) stacked on top of each other and covered with the pink cream...

Yummy!

Followed by a dance with Yeye...

Oh... and one more present... a beading set...

Determination...

Thanks for all the presents and the angbaos!

Zoe's Birthday - School

Today we celebrated Zoe's birthday in school. Took place after their nap. Zoe changed her clothes and helped to lay out the stuff while the rest of the class went for diaper change...

We have Princess party hats for the girls and Mickey Mouse clubhouse hats for the boys!

Drawing + Reading

Zoe loves to paint... and she's getting pretty good at it too! We give her a bib now so that she doesn't stain her clothes.

The one in the middle is a sun - we were pretty impressed that she could draw that.

Close up on the piece of art.
She is starting to get the concept of certain things. So the sun above and also the rainbow below. 7 lines of different colors.

Her favorite things these days seems to revolve around the letter 'P' - Princesses, Pink and Party.  One of her favorite toys is Playmobile (another 'P'). I guess her favorite activity then will be "Pink Playmobile Princesses Playing Party!" Wow... I made a sentence with every word starting with 'P'!

Oh... and something that she picked up from her mum, she likes to go to the library and read...

Supergirl

Zoe likes to hang above the slides at playground these days....

Initially a bit scary (for parents) and slightly concerned that she will fall. But guess she is strong enough and old enough to gauge for herself what her limits are.

Misc Last week of the year

A lot of things happened the last week of the year... First Sylvia got married (again) but this time in Singapore. When Sylvia, Steve and Cathy (Steve's Mum) came over to visit, Zoe surprisingly took to them very well and started taking out her toys to show them...

First... her Playmobile set. Aunt Sylvia looks surprised at what Zoe is telling her.

Then Steve started playing with the set as well. Boys will be boys!
Then came Sylvia's farewell at York hotel (Yummy Penang food). Zoe is more shy this time... but still took time to learn something from Uncle Steve....
Something that will cause all grandparents to flip! Using chopsticks to make "music" on glasses!

Anyway, Zoe was very restless at the hotel and had to take her around to work off her energy.... Check out my huge shoes!!
It's actually not very big!

Oh... here's another chair to sit on...

Then there was 舅舅's birthday where we had a la carte buffet at the restaurant opposite Zoe's school. Unfortunately, Zoe didn't take a nap... here she is looking cute.... but 30 mins later, was asleep on a couch outside the restaurant.

Lastly, went to 姨姨's place for a swim today. Didn't swim much but Mummy bought these mini oranges that tastes yummy. I know how to spit out the seeds too!

Better share some with mummy!
